Study on Ni-based WC Ceramic Coating Adding Laser Cladding Rare Earth on Al Alloy Surface

Abstract: Adding appropriate amount of rare earth oxides and their preparation cladding materials, Ni-based WC ceramic coating was prepared by laser cladding on the surface of the aluminum alloy ZL108. Microstructure was analyzed, micro-hardness was measured, dry friction and wear properties of the cladding were checked. The results show that the microstructure of Ni-based WC metal-ceramics coating layer on the aluminum alloy is fine and compact and no cracks, Metallurgical bonding is firmly between WC particles and the matrix. Micro cutting and adhesive wear are the main wear modes at room temperature. Dry friction and wear of Ni-based WC ceramic coating on the aluminum alloy are excellent.
