Study on Effect of Quenching Water Temperature on Mechanical Properties of Cast Aluminum Alloy

Abstract: The mechanical testing, OM and SEM were used to study the effects of quenching water temperature during cast aluminum alloy solution and strengthening process on mechanical properties of the alloy. The results show that the strength and hardness of the alloy associates with temperature of quenching water. And at 60 ℃ of quenching water temperature, the best performance of the alloy material is obtained. Under the temperature of quenching water, ductile fracture and accompanied by partial dissociation are observed in the alloy specimen fracture and the alloy exhibits good mechanical properties.
