FEM Simulation Analysis on Roller Quenching Process for NM500 Plate with Different Thickness

Abstract: The variation rule of temperature, stress and deformation of the NM500 plate with different thickness was simulated by finite element method. The results show that the temperature difference along thickness direction of the plate increases while the cooling rate decreases with the increase of plate thickness. The deformation along length and width direction of the plate decreases obviously with the increase of plate thickness. Besides, the equivalent stress alone width direction becomes uniform. The upwarping deformation appears first and then downwarping deformation appears along width direction of the 5 mm thickness plate.
