Vehicle-ground Position Sync-prediction Handover for High-speed Railways

Abstract: Bandwidth insufficiency and frequent handover are the key problems for high-speed railways to devel-op broadband wireless communication at present.In this paper,the opto-electronic j oint fast handover mecha-nism was constructed on the basis of the Radio over Fiber (RoF)network and the novel concept of Cell Moving so as to support high-bandwidth and shorten handover time in high-speed train mobile communication.And then,the new abroad-vehicle & wayside positioning sync-prediction algorithm was brought forth to match the mechanism.Results of network simulation with NS-2 show that compared with the classific IEEE802.11 the synchronization position prediction handover algorithm can better the indexes of the network throughput,pack-eting delay and package losses to a great extent effectively overcome the shortage of long handover time and a-void the situation of handover-intensive.
