Abstract: It is the combined efforts of material, production method, product attribute and positioning, producer, and social context that established, developed, and formed the "line" and "linear" arts of the blueand -white porcelain produced in the Ming Dynasty folk kilns at Jingdezhen. This paper studies the materials, ’such as brushes, pigments, clay bodies, glazes, and shapes in painting blue-and-white porcelain of the folk kilns, and analyzes their functions in the formation of linear characteristics of art.
