Abstract: To solve the extremely nonlinear problem in the process of wellhead back pressure control,a kind of"identifier-controller"control system based on artificial neural network was designed. The radial basic function neural network was used as the framework to create the basic structure of identifier and controller,and a controller characterized by radial basic function neural network in parallel with proportion element was designed. To verify the control effect,the nonlinear mathematic model of wellhead back pressure system was established. The Matlab software was applied to conduct a simulation. In the given conditions of 1,2 and 3 MPa respectively,the system is of stable convergence,the regulation time is about 5 s and the overshoot is less than 10%. The artificial neural network control method can quickly track control signals and the overshoot is small. As a result,the nonlinear control problem in the wellhead back pressure system has been solved effectively.
