Abstract: Hardness, impact toughness, and wear resistance of special cold die steel DC53 under the heat treatment of low quenching and low tempering were analyzed, which was compared with the imported finishing roller specimen Cr12MoV. The results show that DC53 can acquire excellent and comprehensive mechanical properties through low quenching and low tempering, and acquire better impact toughness than the steel treated by standard heat treatment specification in the condition of keeping higher hardness. However, DC53 can still keep superior wear resistance that is suitable to be used in the manufacture of working parts of die which need stand high load, high toughness and high wear resistance.
