Abstract: In order explore the best removal process of refractory ammonia nitrogen in the aquaculture waste water, this experiment adopted biofilm-electrode process. Anode rod used in the aerobic zone produces oxygen, which turned ammonia nitrogen into nitrate nitrogen with the help of nitrobacteria. And Cathode carbon in the anoxic zone electrolyzed hydrogen, which contributed to the realizing denitrification of denitrifying bacteria. The results showed that: too high or too low temperature restrained the activity of nitrifying bacteria and denitrifying bacteria. When the C/N rate was 1, the ammonia nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen could be removed at the same time. The current played a great role in promoting the efficiency of nitrification and denitrification process. And the current intensity increased with the increase of ammonia nitrogen load. The removal rates of ammonia nitrogen would be improved with greater hydraulic power.
