Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of thread-dragging through fistula method in treating patients with lowcomplex anal fistula. Methods: A multicenter randomized controlled study was made, and 90 patients with low-complex anal fistula were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 45 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated by thread-dragging through fistula method, and the control group was treated by incision method. The clinical symptoms and signs, anal function, scar size, wound length and width, wound healing time, and hospitalization expenses after operation were compared. Results: After operation, the treatment group was significantly better than the control group in the items of pain, bleeding, exudate, anal swelling and defecation( P < 0. 05). The scar size, wound length and wound width of treatment group were lower than those of control group( P < 0. 01). The wound healing time of treatment group was obviously shortened( P <0. 01) and the hospitalization expense of treatment group was remarkably reduced( P < 0. 01) compared with control group. Conclusion: The method of thread-dragging through fistula in treating low-complex anal fistula can reduce pain, bleeding, exudate and scar size, shorten the wound healing time, and decrease the hospitalization expenses.
