Three-dimensional Reconstruction of Straightened Cervical Spine Curve Model and Evaluation of the Virtual Extended Cervical Spine Action

Abstract: Objective: To reconstruct the three-dimensional model of the normal cervical spine curve and the straightened cervical spine curve,and to explore its mechanism of cervical spine extended manipulation. Methods: Rabbits’ cervical spine were fixed and scanned by CT. three-dimensional model of the normal cervical spine curve and the straightened cervical spine were reconstructed by MIMICS and analyzed by ANSYS. The three-dimensional models were loaded force on 20 degree to forward bend and 60 degree to back extension. The biomechanical changes of different cervical spine disc levels were observed. Results: The biomechanical change of C1,4,5 disc levels was the largest on 20 degree to forward bend,but all cervical spine disc levels of the two models were not obvious on 60 degree to back extension( P > 0. 05). Conclusion: Straightened cervical spine can make the biomechanical change larger,and the virtual cervical spine extended manipulation can adjust biomechanical change.
