Abstract: Objective To evaluate the significance of thyroid function testing in our hospital medical personnel. Methods The serum levels of tri-iodothyronine(T3), thyroxin (T4), free thyrotonine (FT3), free thyroxine (FT4) and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) were prospectively studied in 240 medical personnel and 280 healthy persons. Results They were in the normal limits for the values of T3, T4, FT3, FT4 and TSH of every group. There were not significantly differences for two groups (P>0.05). Hyperthyroidism ofmedical group and control group were 6.7%and 6.05%, respectively. There were not significantly differences for two groups (P>0.05). Subclinical hyperthyroidism of medical groupand control group were 7.5%and 3.68%, respectively. There were significantly differences for two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion There are effects on thyroid function in hospital radio.
