Abstract: A 36-year-old male patient with chronic hepatitis B received oral adefovir 10 mg once daily.About 6 months later,the treatment was switched to entecavir 0.5 mg once daily due to poor efficacy.Five months later,adefovir 10 mg once daily was added to his regimen.After 5 months of combination therapy,the patient developed a feeling of numbness on the right metatarsophalangeal joints.His creatine kinase level was 800 U/L.On the fourth day after entecavir withdrawal,his creatine kinase was 257 U/L,and the symptom of right metatarsophalangeal joints numbness was improved.
