Abstract: The efficiency appraisal is performed by operators to measure or judge the pipeline integrity management(PIM)level, which is quite essential for the continuous development of the PIM work.In view of this,we first summarized the requirements of foreign and domestic laws, regulations and specifications for the PIM′s efficiency appraisal of PIM.Through a brief introduction of such status quo in some foreign pipeline companies,we understand that domestic pipeline companies are still lagging behind in this aspect and there is no related national codes or criteria for this subject. Then according to the goals of PIM,and from the angle of checking and measuring whether the goals will be realized,we proposed an"input-output"model of the efficiency appraisal for PIM, establishing an index system based on the Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA).This index system includes 9modules,named as data management,high-impact area identification, risk assessment, integrity assessment, corrosion prevention and control, body management, natural and geological disaster prevention, pipeline protection, and pipeline safeguard.Pilot application in some pipeline companies suggests that this established classified index system will satisfy the needs at various management levels. This study provides a reference and guidance to the PIM system improvement in China.
