Abstract: Objective To investigate the pollution situation of phthalate acid esters( PAEs) in grain market in Zhengzhou city. Methods The samples were selected from a market to detect the contents of PAEs by GC- MS. The detection results were statistically analyzed by nonparametric Wilcoxon rank sum test. Results In detection of 18 kinds of PAEs,DEHP and DIBP were frequently detected,and the detection rates were 96. 7% and 23. 3% respectively,while other types of PAEs were not detected. The results were analyzed according to different sample parameters. The PAEs contents in rice were higher than those in flour( Z =2. 8435,P =0. 0045),and higher in plastic bag than those in cloth bag( Z =-2. 1750,P =0. 0296). PAEs contents had no statistical difference among bags in different sizes( Z =- 1. 5290,P = 0. 1371). Conclusion The contents of PAEs were lower in a safe range in grain market of Zhengzhou city. Packaging materials may be an important source of PAEs in grain, but not the only one. There may be other factors.
