Abstract: A private museum, for the purpose of education, re-search, and appreciation, is a non-profit public social service a-gency which legally establishes and obtains the legal personality by non-state social force using artifacts, specimens, data and other assets. Educational function, one of the primary functions of private museums, is different from school education, but it can expand the connotation of school education and increase special values for school education to a certain extent. Private museums can play the educational role through either permanent exhibition or special exhibition with the help of collections, through inside and outside activities such as lectures, games and experience, through diverse kinds of artistic forms, as well as through publi-cations. All in all, the museum's educational function is a non-procedure education. But to some extent, compared with procedure education, non-procedure education can better devel-op a person's interest and potential abilities, and play an impor-tant role in career planning.
