Abstract: [Objective]To investigate the influence of Newman nursing mode on postoperative rehabilitation and lactation function in primiparas undergoing cesarean section.[Methods]100 primiparas, who were given the low cesarean section under spinal and epidural anesthesia from September 2012 to February 2013,were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group. The control group was given perioperative routine nursing, and the observation group received Newman nursing mode. The postoperative rehabilitation( anal exhaust time, postoperative ambulation time, and uterine involution in 24 hours and 48 hours after operation) and lactation function( initial time of lactation, and lactation score) were observed in two groups.[Results]The postoperative anal exhaust time( 18. 24 ± 2. 07 hours) and ambulation time( 21. 36 ± 2. 23 hours) in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group [( 19. 80 ± 2. 04) hours and( 23. 04 ± 2. 64) hours]significantly( P < 0. 05). The uterine involution in24 hours and 48 hours after operation in the observation group [( 12. 28 ± 1. 99) cm and( 5. 08 ± 1. 35) cm] were significantly lower than those in the control group [( 13. 48 ± 1. 96) cm and( 6. 48 ± 1. 12) cm] significantly( P < 0. 05). The initial time of lactation in the observation group [( 23. 48 ± 1. 96) hours]was earlier than that in the control group [( 24. 84 ± 1. 86) hours]significantly( P < 0. 05),while the lactation score in the observation group( 2. 40 ± 0. 71) was higher that in the control group( 1. 84 ±0. 85) significantly( P <0. 05).[Conclusion]Newman nursing mode can significantly promote postoperative rehabilitation and improve lactation function in primiparas undergoing cesarean section.
