Analysis on Resident Trip Characteristics in Large-scale Residential Community in Suburban

Abstract: Large-scale residential community is one of the rapid development area in Shanghai. The traffic demand generation and distribution, transport facilities of these area will have important influence on the traffic of Shanghai.This research, by household questionnaire survey, analyzed the trip characteristics of the residents lived in the large-scale residential community. The research found that these residents would choose public transport as their main trip mode in the future. And compared with central city, the large-scale residential community needed more advanced transportation management technology. The results wil provide decision support in traffic planning, especial y public transport planning, of large-scale residential community.
