Abstract: Objective To investigate the expressions of HAI-1 and Matriptase in cervical squamous carcinoma (SCC),cervi-cal intraepithelial neoplasia ( CIN) and normal cervical epithelium ( NCE) .Methods The technique of IHC was applied to examine the expressions of HAI-1 and Matriptase in 90 cases of SCC,60 cases of CIN,30 cases of NCE.Results The expression of HAl-1 was sig-nificantly lower in SCC,compared with CIN and NCE ( P <0.05).The expression of Matriptase was significantly higher in SCC tis-sues,compared with CIN and NCE( P <0.01).The expression of HAI-1 and Matriptase in SCC had correlation with clinical stage , depth of invasion ,lymphnode metastasis ,tissue differentiation and tumor size ,but has no correlation with age .The relating indexes in NCE, CIN,and SCC were -0.77.5,-0.565 and -0.455 respectively, with significant difference ( P <0.01).Conclusion The abnormal expressions of HAI-l and Matriptase proteins may be important events during the progression of SCC in humans .HAI-l and Matriptase Protein may be used as parameters for assessing the malignancy and prognosis of SCC .
