Abstract: In this thesis, the finite element strength reduction method was used for the stability analysis of surrounding rock in the process of tunneling, in order to closely study the safety and stability of surrounding rock in the process of tunneling by improved CRD construction method. Meanwhile, combining with the tunneling scheme under the improved CRD construction method for the Bijiashan shallowly-buried tunnel on Harbin-Dalian passenger-dedicated line, considering the interaction between the surrounding rock and the structure, using finite element software ANSYS, the thesis dynamically analyzed the safety factors of surrounding rock in the process of tunneling, and researched the instability features of the tunnel by means of equivalent plastic strain coefficient. The research result indicates that the finite element strength reduction method can effectually be used for the quantitative safety evaluation of the tunnel in the process of tunneling.
