Abstract: This paper presents an academic discussion onthe origin of acupuncture and moxibustion in ourcountry.It includes(1)the relations between fire,stone and acupuncture and moxibustion;(2)thewords "acupuncture and moxibustion" were found inthe inscription on bones or tortoise shells at ShangDynasty;(3)the origin of acupuncture points,and(4)the relations between points,channel and Qi-gong(breathing exercises).In the ruins of New Stone Age locating in theDuo Lun Qi Prefecture in Inner-mongolia,a poli-shed stone needle was unearthed.According to theidentification of archaeologists and workers of me-dical history,the needle was regarded as a primi-tive acupuncture tool-Bian stone in New Stone Age(10,000-4,000 B.C).However some people cosiderthat Bian stone was originated in the Old Stone Age(18,000 B.C).
