Interference evaluation of the flicker customer based on fluctuating model and virtual evaluation scenarios

Abstract: Voltage fluctuation at the point of common coupling (PCC) is usually caused by more than one flicker sources. The flicker severity measured at PCC can’t indicate the amount of pollution propagating into the grid. An interference evaluation method based on flicker-type customer modeling and virtual evaluation scenarios is proposed. First, the models of the flicker-type customer are established and parameters of the models are identified by detecting the voltage and current of PCC. Then, the dynamic phasor method is used to model the power network and construct evaluation scenarios and compute the severity of customer disturbance injection. Finally, the validity of the evaluation method is verified by simulation with three different disturbance models.
