Research on improved method of damping ratio about wind wheel

Abstract: The airfoil thickness,the new dual plywood connection of blades,the slotted and threatened along the wingspan direction were presented for a wind wheel and the modal tests were done in order to get the effect of the structural improvements of the wind wheel on its damping ratio.The study found that the three structural improvement methods could all improve the change regulation of the damping ratio effectively with the vibration order increasing,and the most significant effect was the airfoil thickness.The airfoil thickness influenced the damping ratios of the first-order vibration and the second-order vibration to be more significant than other-order vibrations.The other two structural changes influenced the damping ratios of the first-order vibration and the second-order vibration to be relatively small and uniform.The related results have more important practical value for the design and the optimization of the damping ratio about the wind wheel.
