Impact of micro-climate on characteristic curves of single-crystalline photovoltaic array

Abstract: The impact of micro-climate on characteristic curves of single-crystalline silicon photovoltaic array is analyzed adopting numerical method in this paper.It’s established that the cell-to-module-toarray mathematic model for photovoltaic panels taking the three basic micro-climate variables into consideration,which is resolved by using a kind of iteration method defined as segmented iteration.It is illustrated in this paper that the model characteristic curves are in great consistency with the measured data points.It can be seen from the model result that I-U curves stay the same over the low voltage range,but move left far away from the STC curve steadily over the high voltage range with the ambient temperature increasing from 15 ℃ to 35 ℃,that I-U curves move up steadily for irradiance values between 200 and 1 000 W/m2,that I-U curves remain unchanged over the low voltage range and move right towards the STC curve and the velocity of excursion become smaller over the high voltage range with the wind speed increasing from 2 m/s to 6 m/s.In conclusion,the proposed numerical model balances between reasonable mathematical simplicity and relative high accuracy.
