Abstract: Falstaff is a famous comic character of Shakespeare’s historical plays in Henry IV and The Merry Wives of Windsor. He is a figure with many-sides character,and contradiction and romanticism can be embodied. As there is strong comic spirit in him,his image is deeply loved. Moreover,the comic spirit reflects the artistic glamour of classic character in Shakespeare’s plays.
