Abstract: Based on the domestic eight-lane expressway as the research object,the paper collects the traffic accident data,analyzes the accident rate,type and lane distribution characteristics of multi-lane expressway.Then the paper makes a comparative analysis of the safety level changes before and after the reconstruction. Taking the typical accident multi-happening section as the breakthrough point,the paper tries to find the causes of traffic accident from the road alignment design. Finally,the paper puts forward reasonable suggestions for the design of multi-lane expressway.
