Abstract: Zhao Xianping's novels go beyond the narrow region, with a distinctive and prominent modern consciousness, through the observation of people’s spiritual contemplation in multi-level and multi-dimensional way. A striking feature of his novels is to appreciate the ugly, and its spiritual essence is to establish human values. Another prominent one is a realistic characterization, with some typicality.
