Abstract: In recent years, Massive Open Online Courses,simplified as MOOCs, has caused widespread concern from educa-tion researchers both at home and abroad. Like a club gathered by the world-class universities, the alliance of MOOCs composed by Coursera、edX and Udacity brings huge impact and much pressure to the higher education in the world. Many well-known universities in China also begin to join the alliance, in the meanwhile they are more eager to localize the MOOCs. In view of the localization devel-opment trend and status quo of MOOCs, after the appeal of MOOCs ’ localization is reviewed, how to realize it is analyzed, and finally the challenges MOOCs brought and how to respond to them are discussed in the paper.
