Analysis of the prescriptions of psychotropic substancesⅡin our hospital

Abstract: Objective: To study the utilization of psychotropic substancesⅡin our hospital so as to promote its rational administration. Methods:A total of 995 psychotropic substancesⅡprescriptions collected from January to December 2012 in outpatients and emergency patients of our hospital were analyzed by daily defined dose (DDD) and drug utilization index (DUI). Results:The DUIs of 8 kinds of psychotropic substancesⅡused in outpatients and emergency patients were less than 1.00. The proportion of male patients was higher than that of female patients, accounting for 51.36%, mainly in 36–50 years of age. The top three psychotropic substancesⅡon the list of DDDs were estazolam, diazepam, tartrate zolpidem. Conclusion:Benzodiazepines dominated the most important role among all the psychotropic substancesⅡin our hospital. The utilization of psychotropic substancesⅡwas basically rational in our hospital.
