An Experimental Research on Methane Adsorption Performance Impacted from Moisture and Granularity

Abstract:  To study coal methane adsorption performance impacted from moisture and granularity, carried out isothermal adsorption test for dry, equilibrium moisture and water injected coal samples from No.2 coal seam, Duerping coalmine, Xishan, Shanxi. Analysis based on intermolecular force moisture impacting mechanism and verify through Virial equation isothermal adsorption test result fit-ting. The result has found that moisture has only small impact on high ranked coal adsorptivity before equilibrium moisture achieved, while the liquid water in water injected coal sample increased methane adsorptive capacity. Affinity of high moisture coal sample to liq-uid water is much better than equilibrium moisture coal sample to gaseous water in the same kind coal condition.
