Abstract:  The author analyzed humanistic spirit in wrestling in ancient Greek, revealed that it was embodied mainly in humanity liberation, body care, rationality attention and harmony pursuance, as well as such characteristic as spe-cific and comprehensive, symbolic and universal, and lastly analyzed some issues brought by the lack of humanistic spirit in wrestling and the entire modern sport development, and pointed out the realistic significance of humanistic spirit in wrestling in ancient Greek.
