Abstract: In order to solve the voltage stability limit of large-scale power system more quickly and more effectively,in this paper,continuation power flow method is improved by using the approximate-quadric character of PV curve and adaptive step control strategy.Meanwhile,parallel processing technique based on MPI is introduced and adopted to optimize the storage space,so as to improve the computational efficiency.Finally,the analysis of a number of IEEE power systems and the practical large-scale power systems validates the advantage in terms of computation speed and its correctness,compared with traditional continuation power flow method.
