Abstract: Objective:To investigate the relationship between the formation of tongue fur and expressions of CD29 and E-cadherin (E-cad) in patients with tongue squamous cell carcinoma. Methods: The patients with tongue squamous cell carcinoma were divided into five groups: white thin fur group,white thick fur group,yellow thin fur group,yellow thick fur group and non-fur group,with fetal white thin fur group as control. The expressions of CD29 and E-cad in tongue epithelial tissue were detected by immunohistochemistry S-P method. Results: The expression of CD29 was the highest in white thick fur group and was the lowest in yellow thin fur group. The expression of E-cad was the highest in white thin fur group and was the lowest in non-fur group. The expression of CD29 was higher in thick fur groups than that in thin fur groups and the expression of E-cad was higher in thin fur groups than that in thick groups. The expressions of CD29 and E-cad were higher in white fur groups than that in yellow fur groups. Conclusion: The formation of tongue fur is closely related to the expressions of CD29 and E-cad in patients with tongue squamous cell carcinoma.
