Abstract: During various development periods: engorged day (ED group), 5 days postengorgement(5-PE group)and 12 days postengorgement(12-PE group), the Haemaphysalis longicornis Neumann nymphs were dipped into different doses of precocene-II(P-Ⅱ). The results indicated that the premoulting period was significantly prolonged in comparision to the untreated and acetone-treated control groups. The moulting percentage of both ED and 5-PE groups decreased and some treated groups didn't moult, but no effects on 12-PE group. P-Ⅱ showed lethal effects on nymphs and caused high even complete mortality. premoulting mortality increased along with treatment doses postively, but postmoulting mortality negatively.
