Abstract: As a new logging technique, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) logging can provide some geological parameters related to reservoir petrophysical properties and productivity, such as effective porosity, permeability, volume of free and bound water, etc.. Taking NMR logs from two wells in Shengli Oilfield as example, its applications are studied to exploring new series of oil bearing strata and identifying thin beds in complex shaly sands with low porosity and low permeability and determining waterflooded zone in viscous oil reservoir with high watercut.
