Abstract: Magnetic Resonance Imaging Log (MRIL) is an effective means of formation evaluation. However, like the other logging methods, MRIL still requires both core analysis data and prior information of formation parameters for formation evaluation. For example, formtion factor F is necessary when formation permeability is calculated with relaxation time T 2 obtained from MRIL. Otherwise errors will occur. In addition, sandstone grain size, water wettability of sandstone and the strength of magnetic fields of MRIL tool often influence T 1 and T 2 measured by the tool. Integrated interpretation of various logging data must be used for correct formation evaluation due to the multi solution of logging data inversion. The opinion about MRIL mentioned herein is only a reference for Mr. Xiao Lizhi.
