Abstract: <正>THE well-known Zjinshan Observatory is located on the 267-meter-tall Mount Tianbao,the third peak of the Zhong Mountains in the eastern suburbs outside Taipingmen in Nanjing.Combining the West and East,this modern observatory began construction in 1929 and was formally completed in September 1934.The observatory was built over five long years,in accordance with the wish of Dr.Sun Yat-sen to scientifically contruct China and under the presidence of Yu Qingsong,a veteran astronomer of China.
