Abstract: Injecting pellets of frozen deuterium or tritium into magnetically confined, hot plasma with the pellet injector has become one of the most effective techniques for refueling a fusion power reactor. Since the late 70's, extensive research effort has been focused on the develoqment of the pellet injectors by quite a few research groups of many countries. Considerable progress has also been made in this area by the Southwestem Institute of Physics of Chinese Nuclear Ministry and the Institute of Plasma Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences. In this paper,the latest development of the pellet injector was reviewed.
