Abstract: The microstructure of L1 2 Al 3Ti+Fe alloy containing 25%Ti has been investigated after casting and hot deformation at 1000℃. Very fine Al2TiI phase can be identified in the casting alloy. The Al2Ti Ⅰ fine precipitates can grow and become thicker after hot deformation at 1000℃. Two types of thicker Al2Ti plates have been observed. One is that the Al2Ti fine precipitates grow by consuming the surrounding Al2Ti fine precipitates. The other is that the dislocation emission from recrystallized grain boundaries induces the formation of Al2Ti platelets. Cracks can be seen to form easily in the region R(L Al2Ti) with numerous Al2Ti large platelets .
