Abstract: The slope, curvature and spacing of the lines κ=const and α=const on the 700×1000 mm h-s diagram, prepared by the author and printed in five colours (published in July 1977). appear to vary smoothly. This fact shows that the accuracy of our computer subroutines for calculating the isentropic exponent and the sound velocity is satisfactory. Bach of the lines κ=const given in the present work lies generally between the two corresponding lines κ=const caculated by Grigull et al.with their two sets of subroutines, while the wavelike behavior of their lines or the use of the equations of state adopted by Grigull et al. which transgress the toleranees of the International Skeleton Tables have been avoided.The parameters of the saddle point estimated by Bach to be p≈70 bar and t≈430℃ have been corrected to p = 64.31 ata, t= 432.0℃, v= 0.04779 m3/kg, h=777.5 kcal/kg, s = 1.5845 kcal/(kg·K) and κ=1.2835. Some questions concerning the lines κ= const given bv Schmidt have also been discussed.
