Abstract: Based on analysis of heat transfer, a mathematical model ■dev■numeri ally to calculate the temperature and heat flux distributions of glass ribben in ■ling l■hrs for float glass, and BASIC program is given. Simulations were made for the effects of the thickness and speed of glass ribbon and the cooling rate on con■puter IBM ■ XT,■ takes some time for the temperature and heat flux distributions to reach ■teady ■, and ■mperature differences between the central and top surfaces of glass ribben and heat flu■ different from each other in the zones of a lehr. The hea■ flux is dir■ly proportional to ■ cooling rate and the temperature difference approxima■ely proportional to ■cooling rate.
