Abstract: In this paper, an artificial neural network-spectrophotometric method for the simultaneous determination of cerium subgroup rare earth elements in steels with a new chromogenic reagent, dibromo-p-methylsulfonazo(DBM-SA) is studied. The effects of the network structure and the network parameters on the analytical results are discussed. The results show that this method is accurate and the network performs satisfactorily.
