Abstract: In rats treated neonatally with monosodium glutamate (MSG) the leu-enke-phalin (LEK) and norepinephrine (NE) contents in the brain and spinal cord did notchange obviously,but the dopamine (DA) content of the telencephalon increasedsignificantly,as compared with the control.After hypothalamic arcuate nucleus(ARC) stimulation NE content in the spinal cord was significantly higher than thatof the control.The results suggest that the ARC may have a catatonic inhibitionon dopaminergic system of the telencephalon,and the descending norepinephri-nergic system may play an important role in the ARC stimulation-induced analgesia.
