Abstract: In this paper, we have analyzed the serious ambiguity that exists in range measurement by using the phase difference between targets echoes of multi frequency in the CW radar. The extended concept of the ambiguity function is used to criticize and improve the range and speed measurement performance of the CW radar system. How to select the staggered ratio of frequencies difference of the multi frequency CW radar to reduce the ambiguity of range measurement is also discussed. Finally, we have presented and analyzed a method of de ambiguity of range measurement.
