Abstract: Trimeresurus tibetanus Huang, sp. nov. (Photo 1-5)Type: Holotype, an adult female (Fudan No 80001; May 5, 1979 Naylam, Chokesumo, altitude 3200m; collected by Sog Lang Jo Gar); Paratype, an adult male (Fudan No 80002; date and locality, the same as those of the holotype; collected by Sog Lang Jo Gar).Diagnosis: A "green pit viper" of the genus Trimeresurus. Color green; dorsum with irregular rusty patches, tail end pure green, lateral stripes absent; head large, trigon, upper surface of head covered with small scales, side with a deep loreal pit (in the side of the face). Upper labials 8-9, first one separated from nasal by a distinct shield fissure, lower labials 9; dorsal scales in 23-21-17 rows, 15-17 median rows feebly keeled; ventrals 155 (♂), 161(♀); subcaudals 44 pairs.
