Abstract: Phormiata phormiata described by Grunin, 1971, only in male. The present paper deals with female of this species.Female: Body length 9.0mm., metallic dark purpleish blue color. Frons widely separated, about half the width of head; frontal vitta slightly broader than the width of a parafrontal; width of upper part of parafaeial about twice that of 3rd antennal segment; gena about equal the height of an eye. Acrostichal bristles absent; dorsocen-tral bristles only one pair of preseutellaer; posthumeral bristeles absent; surface of scutum with short and fine hairs; other characters similar to those of the male. termi-nalia as shown in figs. 2-3.Locality: 1 ♀, 2♂♂, Ruoqiang, 3,800-4,100 m. Xinjiang, 19-21, Ⅵ. 1984 collected by Xiang Chao-qun.
