Abstract: <正> China’s total demand for alumina is ex-pected to be 4.7 million tons in 1999.With3.3 million tons of domestic production,itmeans that 1.4 million tons of alumina willbe imported next year,according to esti-mates at a meeting of China’s aluminaproducers and consumers.This year’s do-mestic production of alumina will bearound 3.2 million tons and imports areexpected to be around 1.5 million tons.Domestic production of aluminum nextyear is estimated to be 2.2 million tonscompared with 2.1 million tons this year.
