Clinical and experimental study on treatment for acute watery diarrhea in infants and young children with Xieke Qimo(泻克脐膜)

Abstract: Objective:To study the effect of Xieke Qimo(泻克脐膜) on acute watery diarrhea(AWD)in infants and young children.Methods:The patients were divided into two groups.The treated group was treated with Xieke Qimo for external application,while the control group treated with Shixiang Nuanqi soft extract(十香暖脐膏).The clinically curative effects were observed and the experimental study was done.Results:The clinical study indicated that treated group acquired more effective curative effects on stopping diarrhea,dispelling vomit and abdominal distension(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Animal test showed that Xieke Qimo had the actions on resisting diarrhea,inhibiting the hyperfunction of intestinal peristalsis,attenuating the abdominal pain,resisting inflammation,etc.Conclusions:Xieke Qimo is a new type preparation and can be used to treat AWD in infants and young children effectively.
