Abstract: The cultural view of higher education system is a newer and meaningful approach. The basic types of academic culture can be distinguished as the cultures of discipline, enterprise, profeasion-at-large, and national system. The academic culture has the functions of intergrating and mediating, also of conttoling, conducting, restricting individual behavior. Thus, the study of the academic culture can help us to comprehend the higher education system and the public policies can be better tuned than they are now if the politicians were to gain more knowledge from cultural research.
