Abstract: This article introduces another structure form a lso used in open-space buildings-portal frame light steel structure,which cost s less than the combined structure, demonstrates its computing theory,design met hodology and building measurements,and illustrates the fact that light-steel st ructures can be applied to open-space buildings more economically than the rein forced concrete structures,with the comparision and analysis of two projects,whi ch use portal frame light steel structure and netted-frame surrounded by concre te respectively in the design of No.2 cinematograph shelter in Zhuozhou Filming Base.
