Abstract: By using the method of adjacent equilibrium, this paper built balance equations about a cylinder reinforced by rings and stringers under homogeneous external pressure.The paper has provided the exactest solution of critical pressure for interframe buckling of shell panel and interframe buckling of shell.The solution can degrade into double or single skin without longitudinal stringer panel,and it has high accuracy and extensive applicability.Then simplified engineering formulas about interframe panel instability and interframe shell instability are also provided.
